Sometimes I paint

Sometimes I paint

Do you remember my e-reader ? I sew a cover for it when I got it, but it was a little tight. Since then, I had time to discover the advantages and inconvenients of e-reading, and to make another version of the cover, with tentacles !

I was not really into blogging these times, but it doesn’t mean that I stopped crafting altogether !
Summer has inspired me to make lots of jewelry !
I created a few bracelets with different methods, and thought that the Hipanema people had had a really good idea, in putting them all together.
Here is my summer 2012 collection, with more details after the jump :

I don’t know if I’m ready to stop customizing t-shirts yet, but what is certain is that the trend is catching around me. My sister just made this t-shirt, with triangles too, like my first one, but more colorful and with a graphic vibe on it.
Just a reminder, if you want to customize your own t-shirts, you can find inspiraion here :
- A triangles t-shirt, with a tutorial on how to use heat flex transfer
- A feathers t-shirt
- and some kid’s onesies with animal faces (cat and panda)
I think I should stop showing you custom t-shirt for now, and go back to the usual business !

Well, we can’t stop customizing t-shirts, here. After the triangles shirt and the feathers one, here is the rainycloud t’-shirt (and you’ll see another one this week !). For this one, no need to look too far for inspiration.
I have to say that heat transfer is so simple ! An idea, a few minutes of cutting transfer, and here you go with your new shirt. I’ll have to go find new basic t-shirts, because the pile is diminishing at alarming speed !

I played with flex heat transfer again, creating a feathers t-shirt, this time !
Just a basic black t-shirt, and golden heat transfer in order to add two pretty feathers.
To make your own, it is very easy :

Stitch markers. Those are very useful for a knitter. I don’t know what I would do without them, my new project being a lace sweater.
They are good. And even better, you can collect them as they come in all sort of shapes. Very simple, or very cute ones, as those little sheep you can find in the shop

I love experimenting. Try new things, new materials, new ideas. Recently, I (re)discovered shrink plastic, this kid’s toy that allows you to draw and shrink your masterpiece with only an oven.
I copied this idea, making silhouettes from my cat and my nephew, to check the size changes, and I ended up drawing again. A little portrait of my nephew, and, I couldn’t resist it, a little blue box.
I tested the changes in color, size, deformations that can occur in order to, maybe, put some products in the shop.
But now that I have those charms, I don’t know what to do with them. Any suggestions ?

Yesterday, I talked about ideas for customizing t-shirts, here is the realization of those !
When I ordered flex heat transfer for my animals onesies, at T&N fabrics, I was pleasantly surprised to get a small sampler of neon pink flex transfer (I had already seen it, but had no good excuse to buy it). I immediately thought of personalizing one of my basic t-shirt. I always buy lots of basic t-shirts to customize, and never get around to doing it…
But today shows a change, here is my new favourite t-shirt, made in 20 minutes only ! And if you don’t have flex heat transfer, you can make the same with a triangle stencil and some fabric paint…

I already mentioned my etsy shop, but there was no “official opening”. For now, I’m prototyping, testing, trying, going in all directions. So there are many different things in shop. Knitting project bags, felted animals, a knitting pattern, and, today’s special, baby onesies (well, at least one)
